Recommended Usage: – Ethos Bright Eyes Cataract Drops for Dogs and Pets

The suggested use of Bright Eyes NAC Ethos Eye Drops is to apply one or two drops in each eye, as eye maintenance dose every day.

Those treating degenerative eye disorders such as; Cataracts, Glaucoma, AMD, wet eyes, or dry eyes, may apply one drop several times a day. If you are treating mature cataracts or a serious eye condition, it is safe to administer up to 8 or 9 drops in one eye a day.  Our 20 years experience has shown this to be an effective form of treatment for serious eye disorders.

Each Bright Eyes 5ml bottle should last 30 days at two drops per day or 15 days at four drops per day. A box contains 2 x 5ml sterile sealed proof bottles; therefore each box can last between 30 and 60 days which represents excellent value for money.

Unopened bottles should be stored in a dark cool place if possible; please note that in very hot, humid conditions opened bottles should be refrigerated.

Or as directed by a your professional health physician.the

Application: Lean your pet's head back. With clean fingers, gently pull down your pet's bottom eyelid open. Bring the nozzle of the bottle close to the eye. Press slightly on the bottle to release one drop at a time. TRY TO KEEP YOUR PET'S EYE CLOSED FOR AT LEAST ONE MINUTE (PLEASE COUNT 60 SECONDS, DO NOT GUESS ONE MINUTE).

Repeat this procedure after one minute if a second drop is used. Closing the eye allows each drop to be absorbed into the eye tissue. Blinking, even one or two times, could cause the solution to come out of the eye.

PLEASE NOTE: Results vary depending on the nature and severity of the eye disorder. We highly recommend a course of three to six months (three to six or nine boxes) of Ethos Bright Eyes™ to see a noticeable improvement in vision clarity, cataract reduction or quality of eye sight.

What are dog cataracts?

Cataracts in dogs eyes are a clouding of the lens in the eye that can occur due to various causes. Cataracts in dogs can range from small, cloudy patches in one or both eyes, to larger, more dense patches with impaired vision or complete vision loss.

Common causes why dogs develop cataracts include age related cataracts, hereditary cataracts, high blood pressure and diabetes. Cataracts can also be caused by eye trauma or infection, which can result in more severe and rapid progression of cataracts in dogs.

Symptoms of cataracts include cloudy eyes, glare sensitivity, poor night vision, dilated pupils and squinting. In some cases, canine cataracts can lead to blindness if left untreated as the entire lens in your dog's eyes thicken and become more mature. As the lens begins to cloud the lens opacity declines and the dog's eyes and sight slowly worsens.

In Hyper mature cataracts – the dog's eyes lens begins to shrink and the lens capsule appears wrinkled. Lens-induced uveitis (inflammation in the eye) can occur at this stage.

Diabetic cataracts are caused by a build-up of sugars in the lens of the eye. The sugar deposits cause the lens to become cloudy and opaque, leading to vision impairment and blindness. While this condition can affect any breed, it is more common in older dogs that have had diabetes for an extended period of time.

Treatment for diabetic cataracts includes controlling blood sugar levels through diet and medication as well as regular monitoring of your pet's eyesight. Surgery may also be recommended to remove the cataracts and restore vision. It is important to catch this condition early for optimal treatment efficacy, so regular check-ups with your vet are essential.

If you suspect that your dog has developed cataracts from diabetes, contact your veterinarian immediately for a full examination and visual deficits evaluated. Your veterinarian can provide advice on the best course of action and help you determine if surgery is an appropriate option.

L-Carnosine supplementation has proven effective in slowing the progression of cataracts in some cases. Supplementation may be recommended by your veterinarian as part of an overall treatment plan for controlling the disease.

Treatment options to cure cataracts for dogs and pets

There are a number of approaches to treat your pet's cataracts. Today we are looking at the two main treatment options: cataract surgery and eye drops.

Surgery for Cataracts In Dogs and Pets

Cataract surgery is the most commonly used treatment for canine cataracts. This type of surgery involves removing the affected lens from the eye and replacing it with an artificial lens.

During surgery, the veterinarian will make a small incision in the eye's lens to access and remove the cloudy lens. The procedure typically takes about 30 minutes, but can vary depending on several factors such as age, size, condition of eye and overall health of the dog.

Cataract surgery offers many benefits such as improved vision and clarity, however there are also some risks associated with surgery that need to be taken into consideration. These risk factors include infection, eye damage, Retinal Detachment, development of glaucoma or uveitis, eye inflammation, vision loss and near blindness.

What does Dog Cataract Surgery Cost?

The cost of cataract surgery for pets and dogs can vary depending on the type of pet and medical facility where it is performed. The average cost of dog cataract surgical procedure ranges from $1,000 to $3,000 per eye.

Surgery to cure cataracts in dogs is effective, but does come with a number of risks.

Topical Medications For Cataracts In Dogs and Pets

There are numerous eye drops for pets who develop cataracts on the market, but not all of them are a safe and some may cause other risk factors and issues.

Treatment for cataracts in dogs often includes the use of anti-inflammatory topical medications, which help to reduce inflammation in the area around the lens that has become cloudy due to the presence of the age related cataract. These drops work by reducing swelling and calming irritated tissues, allowing light to pass through more easily, thereby improving vision. Additionally, these drops may also help slow down or even prevent further progression of the condition. If your pet is diagnosed with cataracts, it is important to discuss treatment options with your veterinarian as soon as possible in order to ensure optimal care for your dog's eyes and sight.

Side effects of anti-inflammatory eye drops are typically mild, but may include redness, irritation, or burning around the eye area. It is important to closely follow any instructions given by your veterinarian when using these drops in order to ensure optimal results and avoid any potential complications. With proper treatment and care, cats who develop cataracts can often maintain their vision for years to come.

Dry eye syndrome can lead to serious problems in the eye. Ethos Bright Eyes applied regularly improves vision for those suffering with dry eyes, stopping further eye problems developing with this ultimate food for our dog's eyes.

How to Determine the Best Dog Cataract Treatment Plan

The best dog cataract treatment plan will depend on several factors including the type and severity of canine cataracts, the overall health of your dog, age, size and medical history.

In order to determine the most suitable dog cataract treatment plan for your dog it is important to consult with your veterinarian who can offer advice about the pros and cons of dog cataract surgery and eye drops for canine cataracts. With the right cataract treatment plan you can help ensure that your dog’s vision is restored and maintained for years to come.

N acetylcarnosine Eye-Drops, are now one of the leading alternative procedures used in the prevention and treatment for age related eye disorders, including cataracts, glaucoma and AMD.

Advances in natural health and nutrition offer a safe and effective alternative to surgery and risky medications, resulting in an improved quality of sight and life!

With the right combination of eye drops and simple lifestyle changes, you can restore your vision. You can keep your dog's eyes healthy and free of age related cataracts and many other debilitating eye conditions.

We hope this article was helpful in providing information on eye drops to effectively manage age related cataracts, along with their many other benefits and preventive attributes.

  1. HTG

This is working for my dog! I took him to a veterinary optometrist a few weeks ago and his eyes were examined. The vet figured he had about 75% loss of vision in his left eye and 50% loss in his right. While this vet said “there isn’t anything you can feed him or any drops for his eyes that will reverse the cataracts” these days I put a lot more faith in opinions that come from people or entities that don’t have an agenda. Of course the vet wanted to sell me cataract surgery at $2500 or so per eye, but worse than the price was the trauma for my 14 year old and quite large pup. He’s had both knees operated on for torn cruciate ligaments in the last 4 years with excellent results thankfully, but I don’t want to put him through another surgery if I can avoid it. I decided to try these for a few months to see if they helped. THEY DO! He’s most definitely seeing better after a couple of weeks. I have been administering them at one drop to each eye between 6-12 times a day and there is absolutely improvement. He is seeing things farther away than he was before I started. I intend to take him back to the ophthalmologist in a few months for a follow up exam. I will post before and after pictures from the vet at that time.

UPDATE: It might work for some dogs, but didn’t work for mine. I used 6 bottles as recommended and his cataracts progressed. I stopped using it a long time ago now and they’ve continued to progress.

    • mark pope

Hi HTG, thank you for taking the time to share your story. It seems you got positive results immediately, then decided to stop using the drops. Cataracts naturally get worse over time, and stopping the drops has proved this point in your update comment. HOW BRIGHT EYES WORK: When results are achieved quickly, the NAC drops work on the thinner outer edges. Then the drops have to work on the thicker center core of the cataracts. Here is where the treatment appears to be not happening, but I can assure you it is.

  2. LENA W.

Didn’t see a difference after 1 month. The drops are not regulated as they leave the dropper and it’s hard to administer one drop at a time. This means the product definitely doesn’t last as long as described.

    • mark pope

Hi Lena, independent clinical studies based on consistent daily use, deliver a 90% success rate of initial improvement in visual acuity in just 3 months, with optimum results in just 6 to 12 months. One month is not enough time to address such a devastating condition as cataracts, which, depending on the nature of the cataracts, generally have taken years to develop. In virtually all cases, cataracts get worse over time, so another important point to remember, is that to slow down or stop cataracts getting worse, is an incredible achievement, with reversal being the optimum result. I’m very sorry to hear that you experienced issues delivering just one drop at a time. This is very unusual and can only assume you screwed the cap on too tight, creating a larger dispensary hole. this works great, my dog of 15 years old, has age related eyes, it has so kept her eyes clear and she still sees her little world around her, i hope you make more, she depends on it,

  4. Betty Alsheimer

It seems to have made all kinds of differences. Don’t get me wrong. No miracle but it does help. I believe it cleared up his vision enough so that he’s not so scared to venture away from me anymore. He runs again and plays. Things he wouldn’t do before.

  5. Cee Jay

I was hopeful for some relief for my blind dog (do to diabetes), but the results so far has truly been amazing.

The instructions say six to nine times a day. But due to work hours the times have varied from three to five or six times a day.

After the first bottle has been depleted (almost three weeks time), the white cloud over her eyes has begun to look medium milky blue. She has not run into doors walls and is now looking up into my eyes again. Even seeing people walking down the road and chasing after them in the yard.

She has not been like this in years!

I was hoping for at least a 25% improvement but I think it is almost 50% improvement. I cannot wait until the next bottle is done. If it keeps going like this I will definitely buy another box.

Thank you Bright Eyes you have made me and my little girl so happy.

She has a good portion of her life back.

    Love you 🙂

  6. Chinadoll

Well I asked my dog what he thinks and I could not get him to respond. Lol.. but his eyes look better than before just beautiful. He is 10 years old and bopping around like he is 3 again. I do have to note that there seems to be sting or he blinks one eye more than the other when the drops are administered. We don’t use it every day because we don’t know what he thinks. But we will continue to use this product with hope in the progression of healing and that things will continue to get better. Hope this helps someone.

  8. David Elmore – Amazon USA

I tried another brand here on Amazon which cost around 30 to 35 dollars for a bottle and I did see some results. It helped with the cloudiness but that’s really all and it took 6 to 8 weeks to begin seeing results. I received these three weeks ago and have used 3 to 4 times daily (there were a couple days I only was able to apply twice in a day), and I’m blown away by the results. My dog is a Keeshond, you can’t miss her cataracts or at least you couldn’t, they are not gone yet (after three weeks), but the visual improvement my eyes are seeing in her eyes are fantastic. One eye has cleared up faster than the other. The cloudiness is 75% better! You must hold the eye shut for about sixty seconds after applying just one drop, can’t always make it sixty seconds on each eye but we strive for it each time. She’s a rescue so I don’t know her age, but I’m so impressed with the results that I’m back for a second round. I will keep you posted on our results in a month.

  9. Karen – Kent UK

    Hello Mark,
I’ve been using the drops on my little ginger cat Tigger, with the powder in his water too. He will be 17 in November.

After 3 weeks he could see a piece of ribbon being wiggled in front of him and was pouncing on it accurately, which was an absolute miracle after wandering around blind. The cataracts had crept up on him, so I didn’t actually notice until he was bumping into furniture. 3 months earlier he was catching rabbits and bringing them through the cat flap!

The drops are absolutely fantastic. I’m taking the powder myself now.

    Thanks so much, Karen

We ordered from another vendor until resolved and am pleased say it is making a small difference

We originally order this product with amazon. however the packaged never arrived and proper credit given. We ordered from another vendor until resolved and am pleased say it is making a small difference.

This product works over the long term and must be applied 4-6 times per day. We used one drop in each eye. Yorkie lost all sight.

After applying the drops, our little yorkie can actually see out of the corner of her eye now. She is not walking into things and can see the door opening now!! Am writing this review from an honest perspective and how it has helped our little fur baby. Improvement is a surprised blessing. For anyone who wishes an alternative to 3-4k surgery — give it a try. Highly recommend, commit to the long haul.

I am a native wildlife carer in South Western Australia. In the resent months I and a number of other carers have reared a number of wallaby\’s and grey kangaroos that have developed cataracts. As it usually occurs after many months of caring it is very tragic and heart breaking.

We are a non profit group of carers our main aim is to raise and release them back to the wild. Every year it is an ethical dilemma whether to raise or euthanase real young joys due to the high risk of developing cataracts .Most carers hate to euthanase healthy joeys, but the cost of surgery which is not always successful is out of reach. Cataracts are more prevalent in wallaby\’s this is even more tragic as they are on the endangered species list
This is why I am desperately writing to you as I have a female black glove wallaby joey which has developed cataract on both eyes in the last 3 week.

In our search to find help we came across your advert and testimonial concerning the success of curing the cataract of a grey kangaroo joey.

As there is a number of joeys needing these drop I am respectfully asking if there is any way that you could sale the drops any cheaper, or in a bulk situation it would be fully appreciated.

Bright Eyes Drops for Pets – IT WORKS!
“My dog started to get cataracts over both eyes. The vet told us there was nothing that could be done until his eyes had fully crusted over.

A few months down the line he was totally blind & we were told the operation would cost between £4,000 and £5,000. This was an unaffordable option & in desperation I started to search the Internet for another solution.

I found this product & decided to try it. I have not yet told the vets I am using it.

The dog is on his 4th bottle & can see clearly in daylight & only has problems with steps in darker surroundings.

The vets checked him last week & confirmed that the swelling behind his eyes had gone & they were clearing up. I am waiting for his eyes to get a bit better at night before I tell the vet what I am using on his eyes.

This way they will hopefully recommend the drops knowing that they work. If I had heard of them before searching the internet then maybe my dog wouldn’t have had to go blind before I did something about it.”

  13. Ian Dormon, Tunbridge Wells, Kent

Charlie dog has given his approval to use his photo which I will attach to this Email. I have a number of shots of him but this one shows off his features quite well, including his eyes which are both being treated with Bright Eyes.

Charlie is now 16 years old as far as we can tell as he was a rescue dog who was only going to stay with us for 2 days until Jo (Our daughter) could find him a home as he was due to be put down that weekend! As you can see 14 years later he is still alive and enjoying life and still with us. Over the last 2 years he has developed cataracts, in one eye initially, and last year the second eye has gone the same way. As Jo had spoken with you re the eye drops we have since over the last six weeks been administering Bright Eyes to both eyes and to date there has been a noticeable improvement in his sight and his confidence and personality have had a big boost.

We have over the last few months had to restrict his walks only on a lead as he would get completely disorientated – but this last week we have allowed him to walk without a lead albeit with a watchful eye from ourselves. This would not have been possible a month or two ago. We believe the improvement is slow but nevertheless has improved enough already to give him a better quality of life in his Autumnal years.

Please feel free Pete, to use any information you need out of this brief text and I will try to keep you updated to his progresses as we go along. Good news about the other trials and I will try and see the Richard and Judy Show when it is screened Thanks again Pete and kindest regards and success for the future to all the team!

  14. Damian Howlett, Spain

    Dear Sirs,

My 10-year-old cocker spaniel, Bobby, suffers from recurring conjunctivitis which causes the whites of his eyes to become quite red and inflamed.

Bobby also has a blocked tear duct which doesn’t help matters. Conjunctivitis in dogs and cats is not usually caused by bacteria (as is the case with humans) but by some form of irritation – often dust or dirt – which leads to a reddening of the white eye tissue and swelling of the inner eyelids.

I have been using Bright Eyes drops myself for a number of months to relieve eye tiredness from hours in front of the computer, and I decided to try them on Bobby’s eyes.

    The results were quite amazing!

The redness and swelling cleared up within a week, the itchiness has obviously stopped and his eyes are now really bright and clear.

The fact that Bright Eyes also helps prevent cataracts can only be described as an added bonus as many dogs develop cataracts.

Thank you for a marvellous product which I can thoroughly recommend to all dog owners.

I am happy in the knowledge that I’m doing all I can to enable Bobby to enjoy healthy eyesight for the rest of his life.

    Kind regards, Damian Howlett, Spain

  15. Sarah Swinglehurst – Hyde, Cheshire

A friend of mine, Dr Hodgkinson, ordered some Bright Eyes drops for his dog Zoe who had cataracts back in October. Zoe is nearly 15 and he didn’t want to put her through the trauma of an op at her stage in life. Six weeks later Dr Hodgkinson was back on the phone saying that Zoe had barked at a horse outside the window for the first time in ages.

When I spoke to him after another six weeks he told me she is able to see other dogs now, he can tell as she now barks and has interaction with other dogs whereas beforehand she would not seem to notice them. (Dr Hodgkinson asked me to mention that his qualifications are electrical engineering and not medical.)

I’ve attached a picture he sent me of her so you can see what she looks like!

    Regards,

My Italian Greyhound 15 year old dog had cataracts so bad her eyes looked white. After 3 days of applying 6 drops per eye per day the white cataracts have receded, although still there, she can now see enough not to bump into things. We have bought a second box with two more vials and as recommended after that treatment is done we will cut the dosage to a couple drops a day. We think these drops are great.

    Thank you again Mark …

My little dog, Harry is heading for 15 years old. I nearly lost him a few months ago but he is a tough little fellow. Ethos have kept his cataracts at bay which is great.

Harry is a ‘rescue’ Cavalier King Charles Spaniel. He has used your drops with breaks in between batches for a few years. He had a heart issue and bronchitis, so an operation at his age would be very costly and risky.

I had a previous puppy whose cataracts were operated on after I retired at a cost of about $12000.

Harry’s eyes have become worse in recent months as my life hasn’t been great so I wasn’t vigilant enough with his drops.

So thank you for your kindness. Since I have been able to put the drops in Harry’s eyes at least twice a day, his eyes are starting to improve again.

Here is a photo of my little man on his 14th birthday.

    Kindest Regards

    Dearest Mark,
Elee is our beloved 250 lb Yorkie…(shhhhh) We don’t tell her she is really only 12 lbs!! Yes she has slowed down a bit, but the saddest thing was the cataract on her right eye that ‘was’ so large, it looked like an opaque contact lens. I was overjoyed to find ethosVision and ordered 2 bottles immediately. I started putting one drop every day in each of her eyes on 12/7/22. I’m now almost ready to start the 2nd bottle.
A couple of days ago, I was standing in the kitchen looking out of the window when Elee walked over to the end of the porch and ‘LOOKED UP AT ME’!! I had not made any noise but she looked up and obviously saw me through the window and screen! The cataract is obviously smaller by almost 1/2.
We live on a beautiful piece of original Old Florida where my mother-in-law grew up. Our dogs can run free here.
Thank You so much for making a wonderful product ‘THAT ACTUALLY WORKS’ available.
    God Bless You, Your Family
    and Staff
